Adam Powell is in line to make his 100th appearance for the club on Sunday at London Wasps after missing the last three months with a shoulder injury.

The 24-year-old centre made his comeback on Monday night for Saracens Storm in their 39-5 defeat at Gloucester and will start on the bench at Wasps. He returns to a side in top form as they look to secure their fourth consecutive Premiership win.

Powell said: “I’m on the bench but if I get on it will be a good moment. I’ve been waiting on 99 games now for a long time after I did my shoulder against Bath so it’s been a while. If I get on that will be brilliant.

“Wasps are still a decent side and their forwards carry the ball well. They’ve got dangerous runners in the backs and I rate Dave Walder pretty highly as a player so they’re a good team. It will be a challenge for us but we need to keep winning to keep the momentum going and push for the play-off places.”

Saracens will attempt to win at Adams Park for the first time when they face Wasps.

The Men in Black have a wretched record at their rivals but will go into the match full of confidence after closing within five points of Premiership leaders Leicester Tigers.

Sarries will take on a team in transition after the exit of director of rugby Tony Hanks last week. His place has been taken by New Zealander Leon Holden, who will be in charge this weekend, until the end of the season.

Wasps desperately need a result after slipping down to eighth place in the table, although they are still only four points off a play-off place.

Wing David Strettle is recalled for the visitors after being released by England and Schalk Brits will also start the match in Wycombe.
