Oxhey Jets eased to a 5-2 win over Holmer Green on Tuesday in the South Midlands Premier Division Cup.

The hosts conceded the opening goal and Sam Styles was the busier keeper early on as the Jets struggled. But Oxhey equalised after 22 minutes when Lewis Putman caught the goalkeeper out with a strike from the edge of the area.

A Chris Ingham corner was headed home by Steve Brown as they took a lead into the break.

Gavin Hart set up Ben Poulton for Oxhey's third shortly after the restart and a penalty from Andy Lomas made it 4-1.

A defensive mistake enabled the visitors to pull one back but the final Oxhey goal came when Danny Tilbury fired home at the back post.

But the visitors kept battling and got their reward in the 88th minute when Nathan Pooley spotted the keeper off his line and brilliantly hit a 47-yard shot into the net.
