Walter Mazzarri has played down the post match argument between Etienne Capoue and match winner Jose Holebas.

The Watford players were seen arguing with each other following the final whistle of their 1-0 win at Middlesbrough.

Head coach Mazzarri did not the know reason behind it but was not concerned by the disagreement.

The Italian said: “I cannot know this [argument] and honestly I don’t think it’s anything really important because they are always together at the training ground and are very good friends. I don’t think it’s anything really important."

The Hornets were accused of time wasting by Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka but Mazzarri took issue with this.

He said: “Honestly I don’t think so [time wasting] because Miguel Britos was injured and of course if someone’s injured he’s on the floor and he waits for the medical staff to come.

"I don’t really know what he [Karanka] refers to but honestly I don’t think so."
