Watford are waiting on the fitness of Younes Kaboul before deciding whether the defender can return at Manchester City.
Kaboul has missed the last couple of games but is back in training and could be available for Wednesday night's Premier League game.
Valon Behrami is recovering from his sickness suffered during the Everton game but should be involved while the match will come too soon for Craig Cathcart.
But the Hornets will be able to call on Roberto Pereyra after the playmaker served his one-match suspension on Saturday.
Head coach Walter Mazzarri said: “This is why I was telling you we have to wait for tomorrow to evaluate the players because Kaboul has been training with the team.
"We need to verify his condition and how many minutes he has got in his legs. For Cathcart he has recovered but is not ready yet for Manchester City and we will see if he will be ready for the next game with Sunderland or the next one.
He added: “Also Behrami didn’t train yesterday with the team. He’s still recovering and was very tired after the game.
"We will evaluate tomorrow if he will be able to start or start from the bench. We still have 24 hours for us to evaluate the players."
