Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita will complete a move to Watford or Crystal Palace within days, claims Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

With Heurelho Gomes turning 37 next month, Watford are on the lookout for a keeper who can provide competition and possibly succeed the well-liked Brazilian between the sticks.

Guaita’s contract expires in the summer and he has, therefore, been linked with a number of club’s in recent weeks, most notably the Hornets and Palace.

Balague says the two sides have genuine interest in a player who was reportedly left out of the Getafe side which lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid on Saturday due to his impending departure.

“It is a matter of Crystal Palace or Watford. They are both very interested. They realise his buyout clause is €8 million but for many reasons Getafe will let him go for less,” Balague told Sky Sports.

“The two Premier League clubs got in the auction for the player and everyone else was blown out of the water.

"To him, I think the wages will be much higher and he's willing to go. It's just a matter of hours and days as to which of the two get him."
