Watford are still to reach 40 points after being forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace yesterday, but despite the lack of goals there was no shortage of action in a blood and thunder clash at Vicarage Road.
Stefano Okaka went close to giving the Hornets an early lead in a dominant first-half display by hitting the crossbar with a header.
The Eagles improved markedly after the break though, and hit the frame of the goal twice through a Luke Milivojevic free-kick and James Tomkins header.
Aside from those chances, most of the post-match talking points revolved around the actions of Wilfried Zaha.
The Palace forward added to his history in matches with the Hornets by catching Orestis Karnezis with a stray boot before he was booked for simulation, with replays later suggesting he was fouled and should have won a penalty.
Here are a selection of images from the penultimate game of the season at Vicarage Road.
