Two brothers celebrated winning medals at a national gymnastics competition.
Mikie and Matthew Ridgway, from St Albans, finished second and first respectively at the Elite National Grade gymnastics programme in Birmingham.
Mikie, 13, who is a pupil at Marlborough Science Academy, competed for the East of England region and picked up a silver medal.
His nine-year-old younger brother Matthew, who goes to Killigrew, won gold in his first national tournament, alongside five other members of his team.
Their mother Debbie Ridgway, who is a trampoline instructor herself, could not contain her pride.
āIām actually quite emotional. This is such a major commitment for our family. They have both kept plugging away and worked so hard and really deserve this. They both want to be the next Max Whitlock.ā
Mikie, who trains 24 hours a week, is set to compete at the British Championships in the new year.
