A body was found on railway lines this morning.
British Transport Police were called to to reports of a body found on a railway track at Watford North station at 7.12am this morning (November 4).
Officers and paramedics attended however a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were at least six police vehicles and at least one private ambulance parked up in Bushey Mill Lane by the level crossing, but the road is open.
Police cordoned off the station.
The incident happened at the platform at Watford North and there were several forensic officers at the scene. The station was cordoned off.
There were no trains running on the Abbey line between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey while an investigation was carried out.
The line reopened at around 3pm and emergency services have left the area.

A British Transport Police spokesperson has added: "Officers are now working to identify and inform their family. Officers are also making enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding their death."
