A free performing arts week for children is heading back for the second time.

From October 23 to 27, children aged eight to 16 can attend the programme held at the Meriden Community Centre in Watford.

Held by the charity You Matter, based in the Meriden, children and teenagers in the local community will be able to develop a range of performing arts skills.

Andre Best who runs the charity said “We wanted to give our young people an opportunity to experience a performing arts week.

“It’s costly going to stage schools and this is free.”

There will be lessons in vocal coaching, script work, choreography and dance classes.

Students will also learn circus skills, have improvisation classes, as well as musical theatre and singing lessons.

The week will be hosted by a team of professionals from the world of TV, stage, and music.

Last year 30 young people attended the event.
