An international business has opened in Watford after choosing the town for its first ever UK branch.

Turkish footwear business Greyder launched in atria Watford at 11.30am this morning (February 20). It is on the upper mall level, next to Swarovski and opposite Schuh.

The opening follows hoarding bearing the company’s branding and the words “coming soon” going up outside the unit in December 2023.

Greyder is not a household name in the UK but has recently undertaken a rapid expansion after 60 years in the Turkish market. It also has branches across the Balkan and Baltic regions.

If the Watford store is a success, it apparently could help inform a wider UK expansion.

The business sells men’s and women’s shoes, sandals, and trainers, as well as bags and accessories.

Watford store manager Mohammed Salhi said customers who come down to the branch will be impressed with the quality of the Turkish-made 100% genuine leather footwear.
