Head of environmental health at Watford Borough Council Justine Hoy said: “The travellers have left Oxhey Park just over 24 hours after they arrived.
"A small clear up was needed and our partners Veolia have restored the area to its previous state.
"The council is now looking at whether longer term security measures may be needed.”
Elected Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill added: “There is naturally high concern when travellers arrive in an area, so the council acted swiftly and legally to evict them as soon as possible.
"I am pleased that all our partners worked constructively to that end.”
