BEAUTIES from St Albans donned their heels, fixed their hair and stalked the catwalk as the finalists of Miss Hertfordshire 2008.
Three beauties from the area Saoirse Cassidy, 19, Nazia Khan, 18, and Xenia Taylor, 17 all managed to scrape places in the final after being chosen from more than 200 semi-finalists.
The contest took place yesterday at Tewin Bury Farm where the girls competed for the title of Miss Hertfordshire and the chance to take part in the Miss England competition.
Xenia Taylor, who came in sixth place, performed in the talent round playing violin to the delight of the 250 strong audience who clapped along for the whole piece.
Unfortunately the St Albans girls did not take the crown which was handed to Laura Nuttall from Buntingford.
However, nineteen-year-old Saoirse Cassidy, came in second place.
Judge and WAGS Boutique star Jadene Bircham said: "I wasn't looking for someone who could be Miss Hertfordshire, I wanted someone who could be the next Miss England.
"I really looked for the personality of the girls but their efforts to raise money for the Willow Foundation have been important too."
