An Abbots Langley man has been sentenced in court after admitting to selling on a football ticket.
Steven Payne, of Summerhouse Way, appeared in Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court last Thursday (November 23) where he pleaded guilty to a charge of selling or otherwise disposing of a ticket for a designated football match.
According to court documents, he sold the ticket, being an unauthorised person to do so, in the London Borough of Islington on November 8, this year.

The biggest football match held in the borough on that day was Arsenal vs Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League group stage at the Emirates Stadium, however it is not confirmed that the ticket was for that game.
The 34-year-old was given a conditional discharge, with a one-year period, and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £26 surcharge.
The £111 total is to be paid through £20 instalments monthly from December 13.
A conditional discharge means that no further action is taken but if the offender commits another crime they can be sentenced for the first offence as well as the new one.
