Watford could welcome back Ikechi Anya and Lloyd Doyley for tomorrow's trip to Rotherham United.

Anya has not featured for the Golden Boys since the pre-season friendly with Udinese on August 2 due to a knee injury.

Doyley also missed the weekend defeat to Norwich City due to a hamstring problem he picked up against Stevenage the previous Tuesday.

Both Anya and Doyley have now been passed fit for tomorrow's game at the New York Stadium.

Craig Cathcart (knee) and Mathias Ranegie (groin) are still out and Joel Ekstrand is serving the first of his three-match suspension.

Young strikers Uche Ikpeazu and Bernard Mensah are still recovering from long-term injuries.

Hi all,
I rarely comment on these forums but as a supporter for 51 years and seen many changes, i would just like to say that this season the club has assembled probably the most talented squad that the club has ever seen and i understand that the parent company wishes to see us in the next league where the riches are enormous .

BUT at the moment (as last season) we have some great players BUT we are not a TEAM and that my friends can only be attributed to one person the Head Coach.

If you look at Burnley and Leicester last season that is exactly what they had, a TEAM, I know the season has only just started but i cannot see a well organised supportive team just a lot of talented individuals running around with little purpose.

Frustrations on hold.

Let's look at the evidence. Game one: magnificent team performance - can't think if a single player not contributing, result 3-0. Game two - reduced to ten men in 3rd minute away to an erstwhile premier club. Result 0-3. Is the conclusion from this really that we are a group of players lacking any cohesion or teamwork. For God's sake give 'em a chance for a few weeks!!!

I have reported your post, never a kind word to say about Donkey, I mean Doyley. All those doubters need to shut up, he is a Jamaican international player, yes you read that correctly, a full international, how many other teams in the championship are there that would love to have our talisman? Denney captain? Should have been Lloydinhio, he would have been a huge asset from the bench shouting his one, and even two syllable instructions and gangsta encouragement . Big mistake Beppe.. I say play him injured or not.. After all there is no difference.. Anyone know what happened to Iriney?

I agree but our head coach did name an unchanged line following a very good team performance against Bolton I think we need to give him a bit more time before we call for a change in coach!! with our squad I think many of us will be disappointed with anything less than a top 6 finish!! so lets see were we are after 10 games 20+plus points will go some way to the 90pts or so which might just get us auto promotion, derby finished 3rd on 85pts last year losing11 drawing10 these should be our targets this season so beppe no rotation this season please never change a wining team!! hope hoban can come in play well & keep ekstrand out of hopefully a wining team COYH

There has always been a good deal of divided opinion as to Lloyds ability but facts do sometimes speak for themselves. 400 odd professional appearances, retaining your place under a host of different Managers who, I would imagine know far more about the game than we do, or I hope they do. So, like him or not he has done well out of the game and past his best ? may be, but you cannot ignore what he has achieved

Total ignoramus !
Indeed. It's like trying to decipher the enigma code, without the intelligence. 'Dropt' ... Nuff sed (yes, that's intentional).
Is it me or has this site gone into silly mode over the past few days?

Agree totally and will never forget that time he scored his first goal, live on Sky too. Don't think I've ever seen a pause as long as that before a stadium started celebrating !

Just the type of game we got someone like Andrews in for.
Switch Dyer and Abdi and you might be on to something - ie actually have 3 central midfielders and 2 wingers.

He is loyal, he works hard and that is what managers like, his talent is not poor but it is not outstanding either he is a team player and I do like him BUT we have players who can do a better job than him now and thus why he is benched rightly, he should only be used as a sub to replace injured or tired players now. Re lots of previous managers using him, did we really have any other choice for the position? I fear Beppe may use him as experience over growing talent and hope I am wrong and Holban gets the nod. As for Anya he has Paredes to content with and think after last game he should also be given a chance tonight.

Hope Doyley is fit for the journey...he gives it his all and is a true hornet...guts, sweat, blood and tears this man is a grafter defender....since his debut i wonder how many players he has seen come and go...managers are vialli, lewington, boothroyd, rodgers, mackay, dyche, zola, and sannino.....must be 100s of players...
I sincerely hope he isn't
His day has gone and he clouds the issue by being there.
Interestingly all the managers you quoted never returned to sign him.
Good honest guy and all that, but can't pass, can't tackle so can't see the point.
I've started the thumbs down...
I think the reason of Doyley being on our team sheet so long is that he is a good versatile defender who can fill in any back 4 or back 3 position...a kind of 8 out of 10 man.... consistent and gives everything...I do remember Q.P.R was interested and put in an offer a few years ago which was snubbed.
