To my son, Matthew T Goulder 01.08.81 - 21.01.15 Thank you for dropping toys from your highchair And me bending down and you pulling my hair Bath times were fun with foam everywhere Then off to bed, with never a care. Day trips to London, where we did roam Helping me decorate in our new home Digging the pond and moving the stones Apples for Charlie, the horse rag and bone. But dark days ahead with needles and foil I was afraid you were lost in that soil A lifetime, six years of prayer and hard toil Then from this dark lode, hope did uncoil. Brighter days came, travel again Egypt and Italy, the Grand Prix remains Your favourite, mine to When sharing with you. But the dark days alas were never too far They came back again to take my bright star You have gone away now forever from me So I thank God for your life, and my wife Valerie. Love from Dad
