Watford drivers are statistically more likely to see their car fail an MOT than anywhere else in England, according to newly released data.
Last week BlackCircles published its annual MOT index, which included a list of the 10 areas with the most failed tests.
Watford came in at 8th in the UK, with all seven areas above it all being in Scotland, giving the town the highest fail rate in England.
The data analysed all tests taken between 2020 and 2024, finding that of the 216,126 taken in Watford, 6,959 were failed - 3.22 per cent.

Leicester has the second highest percentage of failures with 3.01 per cent, although has more total failed tests due to its larger population.
Across the UK, Aberdeen is officially the worst place to have an MOT, with the data finding that 3.91 per cent of tests were failed, a total of 15,777.
The index also looks at which car makes are most and least likely to fall foul of an MOT.
According to the data, the Suzuki Ignis is at the top of the list with a pass rate of 94.64 per cent pass rate in 2024, while the Citroën Dispatch is the model least likely to pass an MOT, with 37.78 per cent failing in 2024.
