Celebrity chef Levi Roots opened a new cookery school at Harrow Civic Centre, which hopes to encourage more people to get in the kitchen.

The founder of ‘Reggae Reggae Sauce’, Roots joined Mayor Margaret Davine to formally christen the new facility.

It boasts state of the art appliances and utensils and eight pristine cooking stations.

As well as training those looking to head into the food industry, the school seeks to provide a fun learning experience for all those who want to develop their skills.

A seven-year-old girl donated 19 inches of her hair to help make wigs for children who had lost theirs to cancer.
