A golden sandy beach is coming to Watford town centre as part of the council’s Summer of Fun.
Big Beach is an outdoor area decorated with beach chairs and benches on The Parade.
The space will also include a beach hut with staff on hand to distribute fun games.
The event is free and will run between August 9 and August 22, with the beach hut open between 10am and 4.30pm each day. The beach itself will remain open for the entire event.
People are encouraged to bring their own food and drink.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “Since many residents can’t make it to the coast this summer, we’re bringing the coast to Watford.
“We encourage everyone to pay the Big Beach a visit, to make the most of the summer sun and enjoy the sand between their toes.
“And don’t forget to sample some of the incredible food and drink from our local restaurants while you’re at it.”
