Chinese dancing, morris dancing and a classical violin demonstration were among performances at this year’s Watford Celebration Festival.
The festival, which offers the people the opportunity to learn about the rich diversity of the town, took place over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
The Sacred Space took place on Sunday afternoon in an online gathering, with a panel of speakers of ten different faiths discussing the question ‘Is our society becoming more intolerant, if so what can the faith communities do about it?’

On Bank Holiday Monday performances took place at the Bandstand in Cassiobury Park, along with stalls from various communities and social endeavours.
Performances included Chinese dances from Lijun Li whilst Taran Singh did a Sikh tabla performance.

Folk songs were performed by Liz Lawley and a classical violin performance went ahead from Guillem Calvo.
A tai chi demonstration and participation was also carried out by Zhijun King.
The event was hosted by Vibe FM DJ Lee Partridge.

Watford’s Elected Mayor Peter Taylor welcomed everyone to the day’s festivities, and the Revd Geoffrey Calvert, chairman of Watford Celebration, closed with remarks that the celebration had once more brought the communities of Watford together in a day of fun and friendship.
