Watford FC legend Luther Blissett was "lovin' it" as he plugged McDonald's new vegan burger in the town centre.

Earlier this month he joined BBC Radio presenter Chris Stark in serving fans the food chain's new 'McPlant' burger in High Street.

The former Hornets forward, who was pictured gleefully devouring the product, said: "With Watford being a town that likes to be bold there’s rightly a growing focus on making sure people here get sustainable and healthy choices presented to them.

"Kids are also far more conscious of these issues now.

"So it was great for me to be part of the vegan McPlant launch, which is a bold and positive step by McDonald's to do their bit towards creating a greener world."

He added: "And of course spending time eating these really good burgers with the Rookery's 1881, what can I say, we were lovin’ it!”
