Snapchat has provided an update on Anthony Joshua’s exclusive series where he was filmed going around Watford and giving back to people in the community.

In October last year, it was revealed that Joshua will be hosting a new series called ‘A fighting Chance with Anthony Joshua’.

The unscripted show will feature as original content on the ‘discover’ page for the instant messaging app and will follow the boxer as he returns to Watford to talk about his past and uplift the lives of others.

It was originally said that it will air in 2022, but now a spokesperson has clarified that it will be in the later part of the year– with an official premiere date yet to be announced.

The official description reads: “Sporting superstar Anthony Joshua is on a mission to give the younger generation of his community in Watford something he never had: a mentor.

“With his book of contacts and drive to make a difference, he'll give them a taste of a life and career of their dreams, while providing the direction to keep them on the straight and narrow.”

Joshua has been living up to his claims made to the Watford Observer when he previously said he had “so many plans” to make a difference in Watford.

When discussing his ideas with the paper, he said: “I know when I come back to my community, it’s important that we get things right here.

“It’s all about being the change you want to see."

He continued: “The change I want to see in my community is - we got our own money to invest in our community, we’re not asking for help, all we’re asking for is a bit of direction.”

Since then the boxer has spoken out about wanting to build youth projects and community centres, made a series of donations, and started up a foundation with friends - Clean Herts Community.
