A shopkeeper who has run London M&S foodstores is going it alone with a new convenience store in Watford town centre.
Kay Parekh has opened the Nisa Express store near the atria Watford shopping centre extension in High Street, Watford.
The 600sq ft shop features a range of products and services for customers from 7am until 11pm from Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 10pm on Sundays.
This includes fresh and chilled food and drink, a food-to-go area offering items including ice-cream and coffee, snacks, alcohol, cash withdrawals, and lottery services.
Mr Parekh has a background in retail, having successfully run two Marks & Spencer food stores in London, but he has ventured into running his own business for the first time.
He said: “The store is looking very positive and has started better than I expected and so I will look to build on that initial success over the coming months.
“We are talking to our customers and asking them what they want and what they are looking for from us and we will support them.”
