New restaurants, bars and cafes are always cropping up in Watford with businesses drawn to what the town has to offer.

Amid the dominance of online shopping, town centres seem to be welcoming an ever growing number of food, drink, and leisure establishments.

This certainly seems to be the case for Watford with a host of eateries, bars, and entertainment venues opening, particularly within the atria Watford shopping centre extension.

We know there's plenty more to come, both in the town centre and a little further afield.

But while we wait in expectation for those venues to open, here are some already trading for you to try out.

Chipotle

Arguably the biggest recent addition to Watford town centre is this Mexican fast food restaurant.

This is Chipotle's first branch in the UK outside of London.

It officially opened on June 30 and serves a range of Mexican Grill items including burritos, tacos, bowls and salads which are made to order in front of the customer.

Honest Burgers

Another relatively new arrival for Watford is this burger restauarnt which opened in Market Street earlier this year.

Customers at Honest Burgers can expect a menu of signature burgers including the Tribute and the Honest, along with a monthly-changing burger special.

Vegan and vegetarian diners are also catered for.

Jamaica Blue

One for coffee-lovers to try out is this cafe that has just opened inside atria Watford.

Jamaica Blue prides itself on serving its hot drinks using coffee beans from one of the "best producing regions in the world" - the Blue Mountains in Jamaica.

BloomsYard

Perhaps this is one for the commuters rather than town centre shoppers.

BloomsYard opened earlier this year at Watford Met Station in Cassiobury Park Avenue.

The first BloomsYard was founded at Atria Watford in 2020, and the owner has been looking to establish the business at more sites since.

The cafe serves coffee, tea, pastries, cookies, bread and more.

Moon Under Water

So this popular Wetherspoons pub is definitely not new to Watford - it has been a favourite for so many years.

But it's extended and revamped beer garden, which opened last month, is brand new and arrived just in time for the summer.

The area is now big enough to seat 150 people and will no doubt  draw in many punters.
