A new festival due to be headlined by stars from Britain’s Got Talent has been postponed because of the heatwave.

FestivAll, organised by the charity Action for Children, was due to take place in Maple Cross this Sunday (July 17).

However, organisers announced today it will no longer go ahead as planned after the Met Office issued a rare 'risk to life' warning over the extreme heat.

Lasting from Sunday until the end of Tuesday, the Met Office says temperatures, which look set to soar into the mid-30s or above, could cause health problems - in particular to vulnerable people.

Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists, Born to Perform, who are a group of performance artists with special education needs and disabilities, were among the acts lined up.

Organisers said: “FestivAll was going to be a fully inclusive and fully accessible live music and entertainment event, which would have included specialist changing facilities with hoisting equipment, wheelchair access and a chill out sensory area.

“This is the second time FestivAll has been postponed, after it was initially postponed due to the Covid pandemic. Action for Children are determined to rearrange the event at a later date.

“Everyone who has purchased a ticket for the festival has been emailed and refunds are being arranged.”
