Watford's "first tequila bar" has confirmed when it will open in the former Bosleys site in Watford town centre.

Latin bar Barrio, a food and drink venue with five bars in the capital, announced it is opening its first site outside of London in The Parade.

Owner Nightcap has now said the bar will officially welcome punters on October 28.

Described as Watford’s “first tequila bar”, the former Bosleys building will be able to welcome 200 guests for cocktails and Mexican food.

The outside terrace will be transformed into a tropical yard for an additional 80 guests.

It will offer live entertainment and DJs, a happy hour, 80s bingo bottomless brunch on Saturdays, and party packages with cocktail masterclasses.

Jim Robertson, the managing director of Barrio Familia, said: “This is a fantastic venue and we can’t wait to welcome the residents of Watford into the Barrio familia and bring the party!

“I believe Barrio will be a fantastic addition to Watford High Street that will suit all type of occasions and bring a feel good bar that welcomes everyone.

“We have some amazing things planned for Barrio Watford, so watch this space and get ready for the biggest fiesta in town!”
