A classic car show is set to return to a village green this year with money raised to go to the local scouts group.

Bovingdon's second Annual Classic Car Show will be held on July 9 in Grange Farm, off Green Lane.

It comes after the success of the previous year’s show that was held in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

One of its organisers, Gordon Bettis, said: “Last year was fantastic, we had the best part of 5,000 people and we are going bigger this year.”

Any profit made from the event will go towards the £200,000 rebuild of the 1st Bovingdon Scouts hut.

The family event, from 2-5pm, will have DJs and stalls serving food and drinks.

All classic vehicles more than 20 years old are eligible to appear, including motorcycles and commercials.
