Two new restaurants have recently opened in Watford with one having a visit from the mayor.

Creed Restaurant and Shisha in St Albans Road, Watford, had its grand opening on Thursday, July 20.

The restaurant serves a mix of traditional Afghan food, burgers, steak and mocktails.  

Its owner Aziz Rasuli, who lives in Watford, said: “My message to my community is that please support local businesses so we can provide jobs to local residents.”

He added: “Hopefully our county will thrive and make an example for the rest of the country that together, we can build our beautiful community, and in broader terms, our country, thank you for your support.”

Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor, who cut the ribbon at the opening, said: “It was great to open Creed Restaurant. They are aiming to create a unique social hub for residents and visitors to enjoy.

“We’ve worked closely with the local community to make sure that St Albans Road is a pleasant and successful place with a range of retail and leisure businesses.

“I wish the team at Creed every success in the future.”

Also in attendance was Asif Khan, labour councillor for the Leggatts Ward. He said: “It is wonderful to see the opening of the new restaurant in St Albans Road.

“Looks excellent inside and the food was delicious.”

Creed Restaurant is not the only new eatery in Watford. The M Bar & Kitchen in the Mayfield village in Heron Place, has celebrated its first few weeks after it opened on June 1.

Nick Vincent, general manager at Mayfield Watford said: “We’re really pleased to have officially opened M Bar & Kitchen.

“As we welcome new faces, neighbours and more friends and family to the village, this sense of community will only grow and grow.”

Described as a modern café and bistro it serves a variety of food throughout the day including brunch, light bites, kids meals and main meals such as scampi and chips and a vegetarian burger and chips.

A roast is also served on the last Sunday of the month.
