It’s testament to Cliff Richard’s longevity and popularity that he is still performing live even though these pictures are approaching 50 years old.
The musician had already been a star for 18 years when he was back in Watford in October 1976 for a concert at the Town Hall.
A Watford Observer photographer snapped the star performing with his band on stage and also pictured him perched on a chair strumming his guitar.

Born Harry Rodger Webb in 1940, Cliff shot to fame in 1958 with the Number 2 hit ‘Move It’ and has since gone on to sell more than 21.5 million singles in the UK.
We’ve previously featured pictures of Cliff and The Shadows performing at the Gaumont Theatre in Watford in 1963.
