It is rumoured that filming for The Acolyte, a Star Wars spin-off TV show, has been taking place in Rickmansworth.

According to The Bespin Bulletin, reshoots for the series took place in Rickmansworth at the end of November and start of December.

They say that "the production set up in a local forest and shot for a few nights before moving on".

Apparently, the shoot involved two characters - a Jedi and a Sith - taking part in a lightsaber duel.

Among the stars to feature in the new series are Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, Manny Jacinto and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Filming for The Acolyte started in October 2022, with Lucasfilm confirming later that year that it had begun.

Other locations for filming include Shinfield Studios in Berkshire, the Brecon Beacons in Wales, and the Portuguese island of Madeira - including the Instagram-famous Fanal Forest.

The Acolyte is expected to release on Disney+ in 2024, with a trailer yet to be officially released.

It is set during the High Republic era of the franchise, and will follow a Padawan and a Jedi master as they investigate a series of crimes.
