The final day for one of Watford's highest-rated pubs is fast approaching.
The Southern Cross in Langley Road is set to pour its last pint on Thursday (February 26), the Watford Observer reported earlier this month.
The news that it would close this year came at the end of January, with brewery Greene King describing it as not an easy to decision to make and stating that “multiple factors” were considered.

A spokesperson said: “We are aware that this will be disappointing news to the local community and our loyal customers and would like to thank those who have enjoyed visiting us over the years.
“The team at The Southern Cross has been notified, and we are currently working with team members to find alternative roles at our other pubs in the local area where possible.”

The popular boozer is the town's second highest rated on TripAdvisor - behind the Tudor Arms - and boasts a score of 4.2.
While the pub's closure is believed to have been permanent, there has been no information on what will eventually replace it.
