A listing has appeared on the Greene King website in the last week advertising the "exciting" opportunity to take over the Estcourt Tavern in Estcourt Road.
It says: "The Estcourt Tavern presents a standout Nest franchise opportunity for an operator who can bring energy, consistency and genuine local connection to a well-established community pub in a busy residential part of Watford, close to the town centre, offices and Watford Junction.
"This is an exciting chance to take on a pub with strong everyday appeal and build a thriving, all-day business around great value drinks, live sport, friendly service and a strong rhythm of weekly activity that keeps customers coming back."

The Estcourt Tavern currently has a score of 4.0 from 121 reviews on Tripadvisor.
The pub giant said that the ideal operator will be "hands-on, people-focussed and passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere".
The planned refurb will apparently "strengthen the offer" by upgrading the internal space, as well as refreshing the toilets and bar area.
A Greene King spokesperson said: "We have plans to invest six-figures in The Estcourt Tavern and turn it into a Nest Pub – one of our growing pub franchise concepts.
“As part of this, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced pub operator to run The Estcourt Tavern as a franchisee and actively encourage those interested to apply.
“The pub will stay open and trading as usual, ready to welcome customers in to enjoy the football and sun this summer.”
