More than 460,000 people have viewed a video showing customers rushing to bulk buy bottled water at Watford Costco.
Shared to TikTok this week, the video shows eager shoppers at the store in Hartspring Lane, Bushey, being held behind white tape before being allowed to purchase water, at which point a frenzy ensues.
Bulk buying of water at Costco stores is not uncommon, particularly during hot weather, due to its relatively low cost and the fact that many of its customers run businesses and are stocking up to put on their shelves.

It comes amid a period of extremely hot weather where the heatwave threshold has been met for 12 consecutive days in the south of England.

Watford's weather is set to cool down over the weekend, with temperatures dropping to 21C on Saturday and 22C on Sunday.
The video has attracted more than 700 comments, many of which express bemusement at the rush to stock up on water,
One wrote: "I know Costco is a wholesaler but this is soo ridiculous."
Another asked "do they not have taps in Watford?", while others said the footage is reminiscent of the panic buying of toilet paper seen at the start of the pandemic.
