A village pub has announced plans for a refurb which will give it a fresh "sparkle".

The Windmill Chipperfield has said it will be closing from October 12, planning to relaunch just before Halloween.

A statement on the boozer's website and social media reads: "We have some great news. Red Oak Taverns, Claire and Adam are excited to let you know our lovely pub is soon to have a sparkle, well, more than a sparkle! 

"This however means we will have to close (for a bit anyway) October 12 2026 we will close for a couple of weeks and can't wait. We will re launch just before Halloween.... We are really excited to show you all the results!"

Pub company Red Oak Taverns has operated The Windmill since last October, when it took over from previous landlady Sue Adams.

The pub's website says: "This warm and welcoming spot offers a cosy atmosphere with oak-beamed ceilings and inviting open fireplaces, perfect for those seeking a relaxing retreat.

"Guests can enjoy a delightful selection of beers and wines to cater to every taste bud—from crisp, refreshing lagers to rich, robust ales and IPAs, making The Windmill the ideal destination for great food, drinks, and convivial company."

It boasts a score of 4.4 from 242 reviews on Google.
