A new supermarket looks set to open in Rickmansworth, with a grand opening apparently "coming soon".

Malar Supermarket has announced it will be opening at 25 Station Road.

A similar and seemingly related business already operates in Wembley.

In a social media post, the business promised it would offer residents a "one-stop shop for freshness, flavour and variety".

Products offered will include frozen foods, fresh food and vegetables, Asian groceries and what the social media page describes as "everyday essentials".

No official opening date has been shared.

It will be the latest new supermarket to open in the Watford area during a year that has seen several big-name and independent retailers open.

Asian supermarket La Mart opened in Watford town centre in February, promising "the most authentic" grocery shopping experience" in the area.

Aldi has also opened a Watford town centre store this summer, while Lidl recently signed a 40-year lease for the town's former Wilko unit.
