One of Watford’s newest restaurants doesn’t hold back when it comes to portion sizes.

When I went to Cloud7 in The Quarters, St Albans Road, I was met with a calm atmosphere from the second I walked in.

It was about 12pm on Friday, August 25, and sadly the new restaurant only had five customers while I was there, including myself.

Perhaps because it only opened on Monday, August 21, or it might be down to its location just outside of the town centre.

But its definitely worth a visit if you fancy a break from the busy parade of shops.

The beauty of the eatery is that it opens from 9am to 11pm and it serves a variety of meals including, breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening meals.

The menu offers smashed burgers, pancakes, Korean dishes as well as Mediterranean food.

I ordered the chicken Caesar salad that cost £10. I didn’t think it would be enough to keep me going throughout the day, so I ordered a side of chips that cost £3.90, but when the meal arrived, I realised the salad would have been enough.

When I previously interviewed the restaurant’s owner about the opening, he told me he wanted it to be a place that people would happily take Instagram pictures of.

Well, the chicken Caesar salad certainly looked good enough to snap for the grid as this was no ordinary salad.

As expected, you had the lettuce, carrots, cucumber, but I was surprised to see flowers adorn the plate as well as grapefruit slices and half a passion fruit.

The chicken came in breadcrumbs, and this gave the meal an extra crunch to it.

However, the only downside for me was the amount of sauce on the salad, I felt it was a bit too much and took away from some of the other flavours in the meal.

The side chips were cooked to perfection, they were crispy and piping hot, and they went well with the chicken.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, with relaxing music, great food and service. I’d definitely go back to try some other meals on the menu and snap away for more Instagram pictures.
