A support group for women experiencing antenatal and postnatal depression will be starting in Watford in the New Year.
The town’s Mayor Dorothy Thornhill and MP Richard Harrington will join health professionals for the launch at Westfield Children's Centre, Croxley View, Watford, on Friday, January 11.
The support group itself starts the following Friday and will be open to women who are experiencing anxiety or depression while pregnant and in the postnatal period.
Organiser Claire Murphy said: "This is a very important step forward for the local community as there has been no provision of support previously for women which has ultimately created difficulties for GPs.
"Health Visitors and Midwives alike who identify women in their care needing additional help and support."
