Characters from children’s storybooks were brought to life as Bushey pupils dressed up for World Book Day.
Highwood Primary School celebrated the day of literature by having its pupils and staff come in as their favourite character.
Library Co-ordinator, Donna Reeves, who runs the school’s event, said each class focuses on one book, which then spans across the different subjects in the curriculum, such as artwork, literacy and cooking lessons.
Mrs Reeves added: "The children really enjoy it and they have been so enthusiastic.
‘Best dressed’ winners will be selected from Foundation Stage, Key Stage One, Lower Key Stage Two and Upper Key Stage Two.
All the costumes were made at home and the winners will receive book tokens.
