Sunday’s warm weather encouraged hundreds of Hertfordshire residents to visit the 19th year of Oxhey Open Gardens.
A record high of 31 gardens were opened up by budding horticulturalists in Oxhey Village over the weekend for the annual event.
Jane Hopkins, organiser, said: "We had a great day. The weather was wonderful and everyone seemed to have a lovely time, both the visitors and the people who opened their gardens. We made at least £2,600 which will go to the peace hospice."
When the open gardens event started 19 years ago there were just two gardens on show.
Ms Hopkins said: "The event has grown so much over the years. Next year we will be celebrating 20 years and so we’re hoping to do a two-day event rather than just one."
