The father-of-one, who lived in Watford, passed away from his injuries weeks later at St Mary’s Hospital, in London.
Patrick O’Driscoll, 33, of Purkiss Road, Hertford, James O’Driscoll, 45 of Hamlet Hill, Roydon, both pleaded not guilty to murder this morning at St Albans Crown Court.
They appeared via video link from Bedford prison, where they have been since their arrest.
The pair, who both wore checkered shirts and looked solemn throughout, also pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy to steal on May 25 and May 26.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said they were still hunting for a third man in connection with the case. Michael McInerney, 32, has been missing since March.
