A Bushey Heath primary school pupil who receives treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a blood disorder won a competition to visit Formula 1 racing track, Silverstone.
George Harrison and his family, who live in Treacy Close, joined a small group of other Great Ormond Street Hospital patients who are fanatical about F1 racing for the once in a lifetime experience at one of the sport’s most exciting events.
The nine-year-old, who is a pupil at Hartsbourne Primary School, Hartsbourne Road, has been treated at the hospital since 2012 for a blood disorder.
During the day at Silverstone, George watched the race and enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the F1 paddock, where he met Sebastian Vettel, Jean-Eric Vergne, Eddie Jordan and Christian Horner.
George’s father, Tim, said: "We had a fantastic day at Silverstone. George was so excited to see what happens behind the scenes and meet some of his Formula 1 heroes."
The trip on Sunday, July 6, was organised for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as part of its ongoing relationship with F1.
