Children’s rides, refreshments and a variety of stalls will be set up at an "I love The Meriden" funday being held on Saturday from noon until 3pm.
Watford Community Housing Trust, holding the event, is supporting a new action group made up of residents called the Meriden Placemakers, who are set to work with staff at the trust to unlock potential in the area.
The Placemakers will be at the event asking people what they love about the Meriden, to share their memories of the area, and to contribute ideas as to how it can be improved.
Businesses at the event will include the Meriden’s own Green Canteen, Watford Cycle Hub and 9 Lives, the furniture recyling group.
Watford Workshop will also be at the event demonstrating how it helps disabled people gain workplace skills.
Euan Barr, head of new business at the trust, said: "We’re hoping for a great turnout as this is a real opportunity to share ideas about improving the Meriden, while supporting social enterprises who make such a positive contribution to the local community. And of course it’s going to be a fun event too, so we hope as many people as possible get behind it."
