A Watford café has raised £1,300 for ebola victims in Sierra Leone, Africa.
Wellspring Church, which supports a school and community home for the blind in the suburbs of the capital, Freetown, were able to raise £1,300 in response to the desperate needs arising from the ebola outbreak.
The Wellspring Café donates 10 per cent of every purchase to support relief and development in Africa through the church’s partnerships.
Through monthly sponsorship Wellspring Church supports the salaries of teachers in Jewels School, but this term the children have not returned to the classroom.
The country is in a state of fear and food supplies are becoming more scarce.
Senior minister Rev Tim Roberts said: "We are hearing of starvation, rapid inflation in food prices and families in crisis.
"There is an urgent need to buy rice, buckets, hand sanitizers and other supplies."
