An agreement to maintain Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) numbers has been renewed by the council.
Hertsmere Borough Council is to continue contributing £128,000 per annum to local policing.
As part of the agreement, Hertfordshire Constabulary has pledged to contribute the same amount.
This is the ninth conseutive year the deal has been renewed.
Maintaining PCSO numbers was identified as a priority by residents in a survey by the council conducted last year.
The council's chief executive Donald Graham said PCSOs play a vital role in keeping Hertsmere a safe place to live.
