Students at Francis Combe Academy in Watford have been learning about behind the scenes aspects of filmmaking thanks to a community outreach initiative organised by Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter.
The Studio Tour offers free lessons based on the UK national curriculum and exam board specifications in four subject areas: Art and Design, Business and Careers, Film and Media Studies, and English.
Teachers from the studio delivered lessons on careers in the creative industries, costume characterisation, camera choices, movie marketing and "script to screen’. The lessons were supported by props, costumes and assets from the Harry Potter film series.
Miss Hill, teacher in-charge of media, said: "It was a fabulous opportunity to show the students what goes into making a film and the career opportunities that exist in the film industry."
