Christmas and New Year waste and recycling collections in Hertsmere will change slightly during the holiday period.  

Black bin and blue box (Week 1):

There are no changes to the schedule on, Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday December 24.

Bins due to be collected on Thursday December 25, will collected on Saturday 27 December

And those to be collecetd on Friday December, 26 will either be colleced on Saturday 27 or Monday December, 29. The council have said that collection will take place on either of these days and they advise residents to leave to leave their bin and box out on the first day.

Brown bin/black box and green bin (Week 2):

There are no changes to schedule on Monday 29, Tuesday 30 and Wednesday December 31.

Bins due to be collected on Thursday, January 1 will be collected on Friday, January 2, and those that should be collected on Friday, January 2 will be collected on Saturday, January 3.

Normal collcetions will resume Monday, January 5.

The council have also advised residents to not put christmas cards and wrapping paper in their blue box or brown bin.

They said that these should be taken to Morrisons, Sainsbury's or one of their local recycling points from January 3. In Bushey this will either be the Costco car park in Hartspring Lane or Kemp Place car park in High Street. In Radlett there will be a recycling point at Newberries car park, Watling Street.

There will also be a real Christmas tree shredding service available between 11am and 2pm at Kemp Place car park, Bushe on Tuesday, January 6 and Newberries car park on Thursday, January 8.
