Fifty female students at St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood enjoyed workshops in personal branding and confidence building this week.

The workshops are aimed at giving them the necessary skills to market themselves to potential employers.

The Employability Event was organised by national charity The Artemis Network, which offers UK-wide coaching, mentoring and networking opportunities for girls aged between 16 and 21.

The charity’s chief executive, Viv Dykstra, said: “Your personal brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.

“By taking time to understand yourself better, and building your own personal brand, you can then influence how other people perceive you. This can really help you to stand out from the crowd when job-hunting or developing your career. ”

Covering topics such as the power of positive self-talk and the importance of confident body language, the lessons also helped female Year 12 students to identify their personal values and discover the factors that motivate them to succeed.

Viv added: “Our aim is to nurture strong, smart, focused young women who have a great sense of self.”

Other schools that would like to host a free workshop for their students should contact Nadia Osgood at The Artemis Network on 020 7739 9777.
