Save Our NHS campaigners held a rally at Watford Town Hall on Saturday.
More than 800 people in the town have signed a petition that will be sent to the Government demanding assurances about the long term future of NHS care services.
The campaigners, from ‘38 Degrees’, want the health services protected by stopping privatisation, making sure there is funding to provide high quality healthcare to everyone and keeping the NHS out of a planned trade deal between the EU and USA which they fear would open the doors for American private health care companies.
People in the rally carried placards expressing their love for the NHS and encouraged passers-by to sign the Save Our NHS petition.
John Maguire, who helped organise the rally in Watford, said: "About 15 people collected signatures in Watford, including one lady and her son who collected more than 100. It was a great success and another day of action is planned."
