Volunteers bidding to give young people a chance on the radio said they are hoping to bring it back later this year.

A group of volunteers- including former radio professionals- came together over the Easter Weekend to give more young people a chance to go on the radio.

Seven children, aged between 13 and 18, went on Silver FM in their own radio shows and one of the volunteers told the Watford Observer they are hoping to expand the project in December.

David Rees, one of the volunteers, said: "It was fantastic. It went very well- we had some good local businesses who sponsored the event and made it financially viable.

"It was brilliant. The kids had a great time, they all want to come back.

"We just need more people, both kids and volunteers to make it a success.

Organisers are preparing for up to 40 young people to take part in December’s project, which Mr Rees suggested with conclude on Christmas Eve.
