The chairman of Three Rivers District Council is to run the Watford 10k race next month.
Councillor Chris Lloyd will be running the Watford 10k race on Monday, May 4, which is Bank Holiday Monday.
Money raised during the popular event will go towards Rickmansworth-based Watford Mencap to help support and run their Children’s Centre.
The Children’s Centre in St Albans Road, Watford provides services for children and young people with learning disabilities.
Councillor Lloyd said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s Watford 10k. It’s always a great event and as there are both adult and children’s races, there is a great family atmosphere. “Fitting in training is a challenge given my council commitments but I’m determined to show my support for such a great cause as Watford Mencap”.
All runners are invited to take part in the 10k race, or one of the additional 1k and 3k races, which have been designed for younger athletes.
