A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in South Oxhey, police have confirmed.
The 37-year-old, of no fixed address, was arrested in Watford yesterday afternoon.
Hannah Georgiou, spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed he has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a house was broken into in Gosforth Lane, on Friday, March 27.
She added: “He remains in custody at this time, being questioned in relation to other burglaries which have occurred in the area.”
There have been seven burglaries and another attempted burglary in recent weeks.
Chief Inspector for Three Rivers, Deidre Dent, said last week: “We also have officers carrying out covert, plain clothed patrols and I have called upon vehicle based police resources from other areas of the county to assist us in carrying out proactive patrols.”
People living in the estate took to social media, saying they “scared to be in their own homes”.
